ZKI Top Trends survey 2025

Last modified on ...

The Strategy and Organisation working group of the ZKI Association1 conducts an annual survey on the most important topics and trends of IT institutions from universities and research institutes. The survey results are intended to help keep an eye on important developments, topics and best practices and to keep pace with the extensive fields of digitalisation and the rapid pace of technological innovation, as well as to provide suggestions for further development at your own institution. The core survey addresses the most important topics and changes in the survey year in a standardised form. In addition, individual focal points that concern many organisations are surveyed each year. For the year 2025, the focus questions were in the area of "digitalisation and AI". In particular, the survey aims to shed light on the organisational structures and responsibilities in the field of digitalisation at universities. Furthermore, successful and unsuccessful examples as well as the reasons for the failure of projects will be analysed. In the field of AI, the focus is on the survey of existing offers and those currently being developed, as well as the expected changes for the IT centres at universities.
