The 1EdTech Consortium, formerly IMS Global, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1997 that drives global innovation in educational technology. With a worldwide community of over 1000 members—including K-12 schools, universities, governments, industry and edtech providers—it develops open interoperability standards like OneRoster, Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), and OpenBadges to enhance teaching and learning environments globally. These standards enable seamless integration of digital tools, supporting educators and learners from primary education (K-12) through higher education and into lifelong learning. By fostering a trusted, collaborative ecosystem, 1EdTech ensures education is more accessible, equitable, and impactful across borders, with initiatives like the Learning Impact Conferences in the US, Europe, and Japan amplifying a global focus on interoperability and collaboration. 1EdTech's mission is to unite the education community to build an integrated foundation of open standards that makes educational technology work better for everyone—reducing complexity, accelerating innovation, and expanding possibilities for learners worldwide.
